About Us

Marcus, Brian, Clare, Rachel Gardner – A family run business.

The Fresh Air Company.

I am Married to Rachel My Son Marcus is a Apprentice Electrician / Refrigeration engineer and my daughter Clare is responsible for Service and Accounts.

We have lived in Rackheath for 25 years, The Fresh Air Company is also based in Rackheath. We have a office and workshop next to Howes Garage right in the heart of Rackheath.

I have been in the Ventilation trade from the age of 10.

I regularly helped my father modifying extract pipework at Norvic Shoe Factory in Norwich on Saturday mornings for some extra pocket money. My father is now retired from the ventilation trade.

I left School and went straight into employment at Macklow Industrial at Salhouse. Manufacturing Fans and Air Conditioning ducting. Which included spray painting and carrying out electrical testing on all new fans.

I then moved to further my career at Crosskills  in Norwich. I was given my own jobs, to manufacture and then install. Which Included Ventilation jobs at Jarrold Print and Cambridge University.

In the 90s I then had the experience in design as well as manufacture and installation of all ventilations systems, Fume extraction, Dust extraction, heating and cooling.

Myself and my Father started our own business in 1992, which saw many successful years working together.  Then  In 1998 I branched out with my current business – The Fresh Air Company

Specialising in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Fresh Air Filters.  Training at Airdale for a total of four weeks provided me with all the qualifications required to handle refrigerants. (in 1998)

In 1998, I had a Fax line and a new Yellow pages advert. Starting from a customer database of zero. I found that word of mouth to be the best form of advertising.

I soon had many customers and things were getting busy. In 2000 I took on John the Engineer who Left us in 2022.  Then in 2003 I took on another engineer Tony.

Work has remained consistent through out the years. With very high standards in work and products.

The  small size of the business provides all of our customers with the best possible service. Knowing personally every customer on our books is great.

All customers have the same engineer on every call out or service (if possible)

I am CIBSE certified. I can advise on the best units for the situation. I am able to advice on running costs, best possible timer settings and able to make many controllers tamper proof to stop staff ramping the heating up to 30 degrees

I am also a certified PAT tester, ACRIB registered, DBS checked and hold a Food and Hygiene Level 2 certificate.

The Fresh Air Company has sponsored  the Primary School Football Team and Netball team. Providing all their kit for the season.

We also Sponsor local U18s Football Club FC Steamers

I have been a member of the Parish Council for  23 years. Volunteering can be very rewarding.
